Marcus van Leeuwen is involved in all aspects of sourcing, performing due diligence, and analysis on potential operating partners and their underlying investments, portfolio management of owned assets, and investor relations. Mr. van Leeuwen has been actively involved in the real estate industry for over 12 years. Prior to joining Belay, Mr. van Leeuwen was a Vice President at Stockbridge Capital Group, a San Francisco-based real estate investment manager. During his tenure, Mr. van Leeuwen underwrote, performed due diligence on, acquired, financed, and sold over $1.2 billion of real estate transactions. Additionally, Mr. van Leeuwen focused on portfolio management, primarily large mixed master-planned communities, and investor relations. Mr. van Leeuwen started his career with Booz Allen Hamilton as an analyst focused on developing and implementing audit procedures for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, a federal agency within the United States Navy in San Diego, CA.
Mr. van Leeuwen received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from San Diego State University and is a member of ULI and a CPA (inactive).
